About Me
I was always interested in artistic pursuits and this was honed by a mother who was artistically gifted and nurturing of what I enjoyed to pursue. I travelled extensively in my youth, as my father was in the armed forces and regularly posted to often far flung northern areas of Pakistan. This ingrained in me a sense of wonder, a love of colour, atmosphere, culture, and most importantly of people I encountered in our postings. I was a shy child and loved to observe.
Art education in college and university years introduced me to the academia, and the history of art.
Thus began the process of formulating my own artistic language. I was always inspired by impressionist movement in art history but more so of many contemporary artists of my time . I often find my own artistic voice in intuitive brush stroke and bright colours. My focus is always on the essennce of a subject rather then details. A very intuitive approach has allowed me to explore a variety of themes from landscapes to bustling city life, moody portraits and figurative composition. I remain open to possibity and change.
